OK wow!

I'm not sure how, but when I weighed myself after today's workout, the scale said I was at 216 which is 2 less than it was yesterday. ?? Only think I can think of is right after my workout, I had to, er, visit the men's room rather urgently. I still find it hard to believe I was carrying that much weight around in my colon but still, that is kind of astounding.

I guess I'll take it. I checked twice just to be sure.

I do confess, I feel the difference. My stomach doesn't stick out nearly as far anymore, and jogging 4 miles is now a lot easier than it was a week ago. I guess we'll see how I feel tomorrow, but if I keep going the way I am (losing say one more pound by the end of the week) I'll have lost 10 pounds in a month. I'd worry that something was wrong, but I am monitoring my nutrient levels closely and they're all good. I could probably stand to get a little more protein, but that's easily taken care of with a few cans of sardines. (Low calories, high protein and Omega 3s. I just have to eat them when Lisa's not around because she can't stand them.)

I did a little looking back at the last time I made a major weight loss effort (which I somewhat pretentiously called the reboot) and compared notes. It seems like I'm losing weight at about the same rate or faster than I did last time, though last time I was eating about the same amount and only walking. However, I walked more or less every day, and was also doing push ups and sit ups.

I did try some push ups on Monday and they didn't go all that well. Hardly shocking, but at least it gave me a place to start from.

What I do observe is while I'm committed to the weight loss, and write about it more or less every day here, I am less obsessive about it. Part of it is that I'm a lot more in partnership with Lisa about it this time. She is also pledged to a healthier lifestyle and has really been great about making sure that what we eat at home is healthy as well as enjoyable.

Well, if February goes the way January did, by March, I should be able to fit into most of the clothes that I couldn't fit into at the beginning of January. (and by April I should fit into all of them assuming the trend continues)

The only thing I can think of is that being active jump starts my metabolism to the levels it was at when I was younger which is to say it was ridiculously fast back then.

Tried to do Pluralsight last night, but the computer was giving me a hard time, and by the time I got to it, I was falling asleep. Oh well, I guess I'll try again tonight.

What is pluralsight? Can you email me a phone number? May call in a bit. Need to eat at some point. May go back to sleep now though.
