Another day, another pound

Actually the scale could be said to have suggested I'd lost two pounds, but since it seemed a little on the uncertain side, I rounded up. That makes 7 pounds since I started really working at this roughly about 3 weeks ago. Needless to say, I'm very pleased with the results this far.

Today was a 4 mile run. Legs felt fine, and breathing was also very good. I really feel like it's finally coming back after the abortive attempts from before. I'm still not running particularly fast, but I'm not trying to either. If I keep up with this pace, I'll be at my target weight a lot sooner than I expected. However, I expect that as more weight comes off, it'll become harder to lose more, so I'm not going to fret overmuch if I'm not at target weight by June. My original plan was to be there by the Fall.

Did some more Pluralsight last night. Almost finished with the HTML5 Fundamentals course. It's not bad for introducing new concepts, but for in depth stuff, you really need a book. Well, a book and a computer that you can use to work on projects with. Fortunately I have both.

I submitted a request to my work to attend Live 360 in Las Vegas in March. It's coming up kind of fast, so I'm a little concerned as to whether or not it'll happen, but I figured it couldn't hurt to try. It does have the advantage of being less expensive than Tech-Ed (and Tech-Ed being in Houston makes it less appealing to me, especially since all of the people I care about from Tech-Ed will be at Live 360).

I found a good website for recipes and nutritional information on food called http://www.whfoods.com/. I think I'll be doing some research there for future meal planning.

Last night's dinner was lentils and butternut squash with various other veg. Very light and very healthy. Tomorrow I think I'm going to see about getting some fish to cook for dinner. I'm trying to stick to foods that are high in Omega 3s and protein, and in that regard, legumes, nuts and fish are well suited.

Here's hoping the trend continues.
