Rest day

Today I'm resting, as I've had 3 consecutive days of cardio involving running/walking. One of the biggest problems I've had in the past is pushing myself too hard too soon and winding up with an injury (usually my left calf which seems prone to collecting lactic acid when I overdo it according to my doctor).

I won't be completely inactive today as I'm meeting a friend for dinner in Takoma Park and unless it's raining grand pianos, I'm going to walk there from work. It's a 1.8 mile walk which is really nothing, and shouldn't tax my legs too much.

I have some slight soreness in my left leg's inner thigh, but none in the calf. I consider this a good sign.

If all goes well, I'll have recovered sufficiently to do a light run/walk tomorrow and Friday. Whether or not I do anything Saturday will depend on how I feel and on how Thursday and Friday go.

So far, so good I think.

How was the walk? I checked for pianos and didn't see any.

I managed to dodge them all. That said, next time I do that, I should wear better shoes. Chuck Taylors do not suffice.
